Verizon appears to be facing a major outage that's caused customers to lose cellular access, preventing them from making phone calls, texting, or receiving internet data.

Verizon said on Thursday that it would credit $20 to customers affected by the widespread outage that disrupted cellular and data service for over six hours on Wednesday.

Only affected customers will be eligible to claim the $20, and the credit must be manually redeemed if they wish to be reimbursed on their upcoming bills.
