Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro is pushing for the procurement of a ?10-million waste-to-fuel machine while ordering strict waste segregation at the Provincial Capitol.

The New Delhi Municipal Council will mandate four-stream waste segregation starting April 2026. This initiative, aligned with the Solid Waste Management Rules, aims for a cleaner urban environment.

Thanks to new guidelines, waste management in India will shift toward a circular economy, embedding extended producer responsibility and ‘polluter pays’ principle into the waste governance structure.
